Measurement Guide — Trousers
1. Waist
Lay the trousers flat with the waistband aligned (front and back at the same level). Measure from one end of the waistband to the other.
2. Seat (Hips)
Measure the total width at the fullest point of the hips, usually at the level where the fly ends.
3. Front Rise
Measure vertically from the seam below the waistband down to the crotch seam intersection.
4. Back Rise
Turn the trousers to the back or ensure the rear is fully flat. Place the tape at the centre of the back waistband (top edge). Follow the curve of the centre back seam down to the crotch seam intersection.
5. Thigh
Starting from the crotch seam, measure horizontally to the outer edge of the leg.
6. Knee
Measure the leg width at knee height (approximately 30–35 cm below the crotch).
7. Leg Opening
Measure the width of the trouser opening at the bottom, from one side to the other.
8. Inseam
Measure from the crotch seam junction down to the bottom hem of the leg.
Technical tip: When measuring the front and back rise, keep the tape measure taut while following the natural curve of the seam for millimetre-perfect accuracy.
